MOMS/ VAT (and Tariffs)

KBC is a Norwegian company utside of EU

All prices in our shop include 25% Norwegian VAT.

For orders shipped outside Norway, Norwegian VAT is removed. Your country will calculate its own import VAT when the parcel arrives. Customs or handling fees may also apply.

Example: NOK 1,250 incl. Norwegian VAT ÷ 1.25 = NOK 1,000 export price.

"Do I have to pay VAT when I live in Finland?"

KBC is a Norwegian company that ships goods to almost the entire world.

For international orders, Norwegian VAT is removed from the price in our online shop. When the parcel arrives, you will normally be charged VAT according to the rules and rates in your own country. Some countries may also charge a customs clearance or handling fee.

Below, you can see an example of an order shipped to Denmark.

What happens in customs?

Here you can see that the customer has entered a Danish delivery address and the Norwegian VAT has been removed from the order.

When we ship your parcel, we submit the required customs information and include the necessary export documents. When the parcel arrives in your country, your local customs authority and carrier take over.

Your country will calculate VAT according to its own rates and regulations. You may also be charged a customs clearance or handling fee. These fees vary between countries and are normally collected before the parcel is delivered or released.

If customs requires additional documentation, please contact us and we will provide a copy of the invoice or shipping documents.

We recommend checking that the VAT and fees have been calculated correctly. Your KBC invoice shows the price in your chosen currency. To calculate the price without 25% Norwegian VAT, divide the VAT-inclusive price by 1.25.

We ship to more than 50 countries, and customs procedures vary from country to country. If you believe your local VAT or fees have been calculated incorrectly, you must contact your customs authority or carrier directly. We are happy to help with documentation and calculations, but we cannot contact your customs authority on your behalf.

Please note: Norway has strict export regulations. We cannot change the value stated on an invoice or customs document to reduce VAT, duties or fees. The declared value must always match the goods you purchased. Thank you for understanding.

WHY?

This is a article from the Euroficalis.
They handle everything for international shipping Companys.

Eurofiscalis VAT Expert in Europe.

When should VAT rates be added in the EU? Compliance with VAT is an important obligation for companies operating in the EU in the B2B and B2C market. It can be complex, but it is important to understand the basic principles to avoid penalties.

KBC is a Norwegian online store, and all prices shown in our shop include 25% Norwegian VAT.

For international orders, Norwegian VAT is removed before the parcel is shipped. Your country will then calculate VAT according to its own rate. For example, Germany’s standard VAT rate is 19%.

Because the German rate is lower than the Norwegian rate, you may pay less VAT overall. Please remember that customs clearance or handling fees may also apply.

Different countries have different customs rules

Some countries charge a customs clearance or handling fee in addition to local VAT and possible import duties. The amount and procedure depend on the destination country.

Portugal

Customers in Portugal may be asked to provide a Portuguese tax identification number or complete additional customs clearance online. Please follow the instructions from your carrier or local customs authority.

United States

The United States does not have VAT, and there is no single tariff rate that applies to every shipment. Import duties depend on the product, value and country of origin.

For certain shipments, US Customs may require an EIN, SSN or another importer identification number. If this is necessary, DHL or US Customs will contact the recipient. Sensitive information should only be provided through their secure channels.

Germany

German business customers may be asked to provide an EORI number. Private customers generally do not need an EORI number for occasional imports.

An MRN is created as part of the customs declaration and is not normally something a private customer must provide when placing an order.

Every country has its own requirements. DHL will contact you if additional information is needed. You can also find more information on DHL’s website or through your local customs or tax authority.
